BIG_BOOK_finalWhat a busy week it’s been at Media Square this week, and it’s only Wednesday!

We’ve just heard that Fourninety’s sister agency Wax, who specialise in sales promotion and experiential marketing, have picked up two awards at the Integrated Marketing Communications Council bash and two orders of merit at The Globes in Boston, USA for their work on the Waterstone’s Big Book Bank campaign. They won silvers at the IMC awards in the Retail or Trade Marketing category and the Innovative Idea or Concept category, joined by Orders of Merit awards for Digital Communications Campaign and Trade Marketing or Account Specific Campaign at The Globes. Wax have now won an impressive total of 11 awards for the campaign.

The Big Book Bank is an initiative to encourage school children to read for fun and to share their love of reading with their friends. It has three distinct target audiences; children, parents and teachers.

Entertainer 2008 After congratulating CMW  for their success in the 2009 Field Marketing and Brand Experience Awards last week, it’s our turn to celebrate! We have recently learnt that The Entertainer’s Christmas catalogue, which we designed in our Yorkshire based studios, has been shortlisted by the Toy Industry for the Toy Catalogue of the Year Award.

Fourninety have collaborated with the UK’s largest independent toy retailer on the production of their catalogue for two years.  Although this is the first year that the award has run, the category will be judged on both this year and last year’s catalogues. This year, improved features include a navigational banner, a toy testing team and a contents page which will help shoppers find the toys that they are most interested in.

Our account manager, Kate Astall, is extremely happy about the Toy Industry nomination. She said that ‘it is symbolic of the strong and ongoing partnership between Fourninety and The Entertainer. The nomination is a testimony to the high quality of the catalogue and the hard work that has gone into its production.’

Rebecca Rees, Marketing Manager at The Entertainer, is also pleased with the work that Fourninety have produced for the company. She commented that ‘Fourninety have been an absolute pleasure to work with. We have a great looking catalogue which we are really pleased with.’

This year, over 3.3 million copies of the catalogue will be printed and it will be door-dropped to 2.8 million households. The winner of the Toy Catalogue of the Year will be announced at a ceremony in London in January 2010.

Poster V3 (Quotes)_Layout 4.jpgFourninety and Gadgetshop.com, the ‘undisputed home of gadgets, gizmos and gifts’, have this week unveiled the web-only store’s first brand advertising campaign.

Working in collaboration with media agency the7stars, the campaign will appear on the London Underground and on public transport in UK cities this winter. It hopes to attract customers who have previously shopped at the defunct high-street brand’s stores and aims to encorage them to buy from the brand online.

Fourninety have worked closely with The Entertainer, who bought The Gadgetshop after it went into administration in 2005, to develop creative which will attract an older demographic to their web only offering. The new campaign will also be closely integrated with Gadgetshop.com’s new catalogue, which was also designed by Fourninety. The catalogue is due to be distributed from October. In an effort to encourage consumers to engage with the website, the print run of the catalogue has increased from 1.2 million in 2008 to over 2 million this year.

Redfoot webshotWe’re thrilled to announce that we’ve recently marked the opening of a new, state of the art photography studio in Milton Keynes with a shoot by the internationally renowned photographer John Mac.

Mac’s photography will be used as part of a new advertising campaign for Redfoot, the original folding shoe company. Fourninety have recently been appointed by the company to launch their new men’s range. A full page advertisement, shot by Mac, is due to appear in GQ Magazine in the November and December issues. A new website supporting the launch, designed by Fourninety, is also due to go live at the beginning of October.

We’re really excited by both the Redfoot campaign and the new studio space! Pictures will be up soon!
