Congratulations Mr and Mrs Stevenson, here’s to many years of happiness!

Fourninety have worked closely with Argos’ parent company, the Home Retail Group, for 13 years.

We generate over 3,800 pages for Argos through catalogue and flyer design every year, as well as being their main photography supplier.

Fourninety”s work for Argos this season included a VIP photo shoot with Olympic medallist and sports personality Roger Black.

The shoot, which was managed by Fourninety’s Simon Denson, features Black putting his brand of medal series fitness equipment to the test. The images can be seen in the new catalogue.

The students, who are undergraduates on the Film and Television Production course, have been working hard on an exciting new digital e-commerce project, giving them the opportunity to showcase their creative, editing and project management skills whilst learning more about life at a busy retail communications agency.

Paul McManus, Executive Creative Director at Fourninety said:

“With recent reports suggesting graduates are now facing record levels of unemployment, the creative sector is a notoriously hard industry to enter after leaving university. We are pleased to be able to give young talent the chance to experience our business, whilst hopefully giving them the opportunity to contribute ideas and practice the skills they have learnt during their time at university in a ‘real’ setting. We see the work placement very much as a mutual opportunity for both sides to grow through collaboration, hopefully going some way to help undergraduates begin their climb up the career ladder upon graduation.”

24 year old placement student, Chris Conway, had this to say about working with Fourninety:

“This opportunity will no doubt prove to be extremely helpful when we graduate. Working to a professional standard in this setting has given us so much that would be hard to gain from merely being taught, and we feel that what we produce after will be better for this experience.”

Over at full-service digital agency Twentysix, a project for Epson portable projectors has kept them on their toes. The viral is a follow up to the ‘Extreme Gamer’ project that Twentysix produced which generated over a million engagements from the target audience and delivered 9% CPR. You can watch the video here. Twentysix have also recently been appointed by market-leading portrait photography specialists Venture to design, create and maintain a complete online strategy.

The Gate have been very busy too:  Towry, one of the UK’s leading independent wealth advisers, have appointed the London based agency to handle a major advertising campaign following their re-brand from Towry Law. Watch out for the campaign, which is due to launch this Autumn. The agency have also recently opened a brand new Fundraising Direct Marketing Unit in response to demand from clients including The Royal British Legion, Diabetes UK, Crisis and Scope. B2B specialists IAS have come up trumps in the global B2B marketing industry awards, the B2 awards, coming home with 7 trophies to add to their cabinet. Well done IAS!

Finally, research agency Illuminas have produced an interesting new white paper on ‘the future of networking’ which explores the rapid growth of enterprise networks within global organisations. You can download the white paper here.

Working together to reaffirm the Dirt is Good brand by increasing its focus and making it more consistent across universal laundry brands such as Persil, Skip and Omo,  Fourninety project managed the re-engineering of the packaging design to fit across Powder, Tablet and Dilutes working on cartons, bags, flows and labels. The re-designs will appear in over 12 countries. In the UK, the Dirt is Good optimisation on Persil packaging marks part of the £8m re-launch of the brand which was announced last month.

Unilever’s Dirt is Good communication campaign was first launched in 2005 and aims to offer children the freedom to grow and develop without the worry of getting dirty.

Unilever’s move to simplify and place emphasis on the Dirt is Good slogan globally echoes the 2005 move to roll out a unified corporate identity via Unilever logos appearing universally on packaging and in advertising campaigns.

The Dirt is Good optimisation project is the result of a growing partnership between Unilever and Fourninety. Unilever is one of the world’s leading suppliers of fast-moving consumer goods. Operating in 170 countries, they employ over 163,000 people.

Taking place at Temple Works, one of Leeds’ most interesting hidden spaces, the exhibition was met with a great reception from visitors this weekend and was a brilliant experience for everyone involved. Well done Anna!


Last weekend, Operations Controller Richard Jackson married his fiancé Jackie in a lavish celebration that was blessed by gorgeous weather. Having spent his Stag Do recording a CD featuring our very own Mike Heyes and Simon Danks, we can’t wait for Richard to come back from his honeymoon so we can hear the results of the recording session! Many congratulations Richard and Jackie.

Meanwhile, Senior Account Manager Lian Sherer was whisked off a few weeks ago for a surprise Hen Do in classy Puerto Banus, Spain. Despite Lian’s fiancé Bobby seeing pictures of Lian in a dodgy 80s dress during her hen weekend, he’s still agreed to marry her and the wedding is next month. We’re looking forward to seeing you in a slightly more on-trend dress Miss Sherer!
